ARTIST OF THE WEEK - Mirka Golden-Hann

4 - 11 May 2020

Shining a spotlight on artists

Each week, through a series of short films, we will profile one of the amazing artists who either live locally or has worked with Wiltshire Creative.

Our first artist of the week is ceramicist and Wiltshire Creative’s Resident Artist Mirka Golden-Hann. In this series the Festival Producer Fiona Curtis will be in conversation with Mirka about her career and sources of inspiration.  In an online catalogue she will share a succession of pieces of work spanning her career, together with a practical demonstration from her lockdown home studio offering an insight into the process of making a fermenting jar.

Mirka Golden-Hann was born in the former Czechoslovakia. In 1999 she graduated with BA (Hons) ceramics at University of Westminster, Harrow Ceramic School and in 2007-09 she gained an MA in Ceramics from Bath Spa University. She has been resident artist at Salisbury Arts Centre from 2009 and since the launch of Wiltshire Creative in 2017 she is also Head of Visual Arts.
