About Mind The Gap

Mind The Gap is an opportunity for older people to meet and explore the creative arts in the safe surroundings of Salisbury Playhouse. The group meets fortnightly for coffee, conversation and creativity!

During our Summer term, sessions take place in multiple venues including Salisbury Playhouse (SPH), Salisbury Arts Centre (SAC) and Salisbury Museum.

  • Spring Craft with Teri Buxton - Join us for a hands-on craft session where you’ll learn to make beautiful 3D paper flowers. Using simple techniques, you will craft vibrant blooms perfect for brightening up your home this spring. (SPH) Book Now
  • Sing Till You Swing with Kate Edgar - Enjoy 90 minutes of singing jazz and swing, find out how to unlock your Jazz voice and your swing groove in this fun workshop! Kate is an award-winning Composer, Choral Director and teacher. (SPH) Book Now
  • Focus on Shakespeare with Liz Garland - Actor, Writer and Director Liz Garland returns to Mind The Gap to lead 2 sessions exploring Shakespeare. In week one you will look at the prologue for Romeo & Juliet through storytelling. (SAC) Book Now
  • Focus on Shakespeare with Liz Garland - In this second session you will look more closely at the themes of Romeo & Juliet and create your own Shakespearean tragedies. (SAC) Book Now
  • Play Reading - This session is a chance to read a new play in a facilitated group. Explore the language, characterisation, staging and themes under the guidance of a theatre professional. (SPH) Book Now
  • Music Technology Workshop with Major Tom - Join this hands-on session with a local company who specialise in audio production services for music tours, from clubs to stadiums across the globe. They have worked with artists including Tom Jones, Diana Ross, Ed Sheeran, Rod Stewart and Supertramp. (SAC) Book Now
