Young Ambassadors

We are the Young Ambassadors - a proactive group of people aged 14-25 who meet monthly to discuss and help shape Wiltshire Creative’s artistic programme. We use our voice and passion to inspire, produce and create change. Our group is a safe environment that provides space to be imaginative, bold and make a difference.

Here’s a taster of what we do…

We recognised a gap in music provision for young people in Salisbury, so developed activities and events at Salisbury Arts Centre including Free Rehearsal Space, Jam Nights and Band Nights. We also programmed one-off activities and events such as a DJ Course, Rap Masterclasses and Breathe: A Rollercoaster Love Letter to Music by SK Shlomo.

In 2025-26, the Young Ambassadors focused on Wiltshire Creative’s in-house production of Romeo and Juliet. We worked with industry professionals to create the artwork for the show and also designed a volunteer opportunity for young people. Read more about their experience here.

FAQs

Who can join the Young Ambassadors?

The programme is open to anyone aged 14-25 who’s interested in a variety of artforms, and enthusiastic about helping develop creative ideas and advocating for Wiltshire Creative. We’re particularly interested to hear from those who are passionate about sustainability, social media marketing, and a possible future career in the arts.

How do I join?

Participation in the Young Ambassador programme is via application and an informal interview. Please email takepart@wiltshirecreative.co.uk for more information on when we’re next accepting applications.

When do the Young Ambassadors meet?

The group currently meet monthly on Mondays, 4:30pm-6:30pm at Salisbury Playhouse.

Do I have to pay?

No! This activity is free.

What do Young Ambassadors get in return?

Young Ambassadors receive invites to Press Nights for Wiltshire Creative productions and tickets to youth events. They also receive discount cards to use in the Playhouse café, and exclusive access to workshops and activities. Being a Young Ambassador is also a great way to gain work experience, transferable skills and develop CVs. Refreshments are also provided during monthly meetups.
