We need you! We are looking for volunteers to bring Patch’s Parade to life along the city streets of Salisbury on Sunday 26 May. Sign up before the 5 April!
At over six metres tall and with an army of 9 puppeteers, the awe-inspiring Patch and trusted penguin pal will travel the Salisbury streets, swathed in stunning patchwork costumes (handmade by community makers, from recycled materials) heralded by over 100 local musicians and dancers rocking the route. At Market Square, the original Salisbury Giant, Christopher joins in and we need YOU to bring the parade to life.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Be a singer
For this role, you will learn a song to welcome our giant into the Market Square. Open to people of all abilities over the age of 18, this group does not move with the parade and seating can be supplied to those less able to stand.

We’re looking for energetic, dynamic and funky movers aged 12 and over to join us as part of our volunteer community movement group. Movers must be capable of learning two simple dance routines and no previous dance experience is necessary.

We are looking for musicians aged 15 and over, ideally Grade 5 standard or above, who play the following portable, hand-held instruments: woodwind, brass, accordion/melodeon, and percussion.
You will need to bring your own instrument, except percussionists.

We are looking for volunteer puppet operators to help us bring Patch, our giant puppet, to life.
You must be aged 18 or over to take part in this group. You don’t need any specific experience but will need to be happy working outdoors in all weathers. You must have a very high level of mobility and stamina and enjoy being part of a team.

We would love you to help us bring Patch’s story to life.
Patch’s clothes will be made up of patchwork squares, created by you, which will then be sewn together by our expert Costume Team here at Wiltshire Creative.

We are looking for volunteers to join our chaperoning team to support the young people taking part in the parade.
No experience is required and training will be provided in advance. You will be required to walk along with the parade and therefore be happy to rehearse and work in all weather conditions.
