News Story

For Salisbury International Arts Festival 2024, we are opening the City Encounters weekend with Patch’s Parade, where a giant puppet called Patch will parade down Milford Street in Salisbury with a troupe of dancers and musicians all the way into the Market Square, where they will be greeted by a community choir. We will bring our new giant together with Christopher, the traditional Salisbury Giant. Patch and Christopher will meet in the Market Square to celebrate happiness and friendship.

We are calling on the community to help create Patch’s clothes, which will be made up of patchwork squares, that will then be put together by our expert costume team here at Wiltshire Creative. This project is about collaboration to create a truly amazing experience for the people of Salisbury and to open Salisbury International Arts Festival on Sunday 26th and Monday 27th May 2024. Let’s get sewing and Patch fully clothed and ready for the parade.

Drop-in sessions with our wardrobe team for support and advice

We will be opening our coffee lounge area for keen crafters to get together, sew and share ideas.
