On International Women’s Day, we reflect on stories of women who broke barriers and shaped history with Spitfire Girls, coming to Salisbury Playhouse this May.
Written by Katherine Senior, Spitfire Girls tells the story of two sisters, Bett and Dot, who join the Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA) during World War Two. These trailblazing women ferried aircraft across the country, facing dangerous missions, unpredictable weather and a male-dominated world, all while keeping their courage (and humour) intact.
A story of sibling love, loyalty, and indomitable female spirit, Spitfire Girls blends joy, laughter and poignant moments while honouring the real women who helped Britain win the war.
Don’t miss the journey – catch Spitfire Girls at Salisbury Playhouse, Tuesday 5 – Saturday 9 May.
