Stage 65 are excitedly preparing for their upcoming production of Ghosts and Grimm Tales, a captivating exploration of classic stories with a unique, sustainable twist. Set construction is currently underway, with our dedicated team working diligently to bring this imaginative production to life.

Ghosts and Grimm Tales is a Theatre Green Book production, an initiative developed by theatre makers and sustainability experts to establish common standards and methods for environmentally sustainable theatre. This framework equips us with the tools to produce theatre sustainably, enabling us to monitor our progress and set trackable, actionable targets.

In a testament to our commitment to sustainability, this production incorporates elements from at least five previous Wiltshire Creative shows, including Cinderella 2022, The Tempest 2023, Dick Whittington 2023 and A Chorus of Disapproval in April this year. By reusing and repurposing materials, we are minimising waste and reducing our environmental impact, all while delivering a high-quality theatrical experience.

The involvement of our youth theatre members in backstage roles, such as stage managers, technicians, and costume assistants, has been pivotal in making this show a Theatre Green Book production. The importance of green issues to this generation has greatly influenced the direction of this show, reflecting their passion and dedication to creating a sustainable future.

Our young performers and crew have embraced this challenge, demonstrating remarkable creativity and ingenuity in crafting a production that is both environmentally conscious and artistically compelling. Their hard work and enthusiasm highlight the vital role that sustainable practices play in the future of theatre.
