Join the local Afghan community for a vibrant Festival of Afghan Culture and Cuisine at Salisbury Arts Centre on Saturday 4 April, 12pm – 8pm (free activities end at 6pm).

Explore stalls and exhibitions of Afghan art, embroidery, jewellery and crafts, and enjoy delicious food from The Afghan Community Kitchen. Take part in hands-on workshops like calligraphy, mosaics, kite painting and traditional henna – no need to book for these!

From 1pm – 4pm, book to hear from speakers including Shabnam Nasimi, Jolyon Leslie and Sadie Harrison on Afghan culture, heritage and women’s voices.

The day closes with a concert of traditional Afghan music, featuring John Baily, Veronica Doubleday and Sulaiman Haqpana.
