Join our local Afghan community at Salisbury Arts Centre for a vibrant festival celebrating Afghan culture and cuisine!

Browse exhibitions and stalls featuring Afghan art, embroidery, hats, jewellery, and handmade crafts and taste the delicious food and drinks served by The Afghan Community Kitchen. You can also take part in creative workshops – from calligraphy and mosaics to kite painting and traditional henna. Sign up on the day.

There is no need to book for the free festival. Visitors are welcome throughout the day to pop in and out of workshops, share some food and enjoys the crafts and wares.

Talks

Enjoy a programme of talks and discussions exploring topics such as women’s education in Afghanistan, renovating the Bagh e Babur C16 Mughal garden and other ancient monuments in Afghanistan; Uncaged: illuminating Afghan women artists through music and dance; and the preservation of Afghan arts such as carpentry, weaving.

The festival will close with a beautiful concert of Afghan music performed on traditional instruments.
