About Made in Salisbury Discovery Day: Presentation

Join us to celebrate theatre made in Salisbury.

Salisbury is one of only three cities in the southwest with its own producing theatre where workshop and wardrobe teams craft set and costumes on-site.

Two major productions will be made at Salisbury Playhouse in the first half of 2026:

  • Rock and Roll Man, directed by Tony Award nominee Randal Myler, will premiere in Salisbury in February 2026 before touring across the country.
  • Romeo and Juliet, directed by Gareth Machin, will burst out beyond the Playhouse walls in May and June for an immersive walkabout production as part of Salisbury International Arts Festival.

Join us to meet the Directors and Creatives behind these two exciting shows. Hear about the vision behind the productions, and discover how you could join the Community Cast for Romeo and Juliet.

Discover your chance to take part

The presentation will conclude with an invitation to take part in Romeo and Juliet.

You will be given the dates of all rehearsals and performances. You must be available for all dates to take part.

The production show dates are Sunday 24 May – Sunday 7 June 2026. The Community Cast will be allocated into two teams who will do approximately half of the shows each.

The presentation is followed by two taster workshops in moving and singing and will introduce some of the skills and techniques that you would be doing as part of the rehearsals for the production. Please pre-book to guarantee your place.
