
About Creative Careers Day
Creative Careers Day offers young people aged 13-19 (Academic Years 9-13) a taster of some of the career options available within the Performing Arts Industry.
You will gain invaluable insight into the production process and get the chance to take part in practical workshops led by industry professionals- the perfect opportunity to ask questions and learn from their career journeys.
This opportunity is ideal for anyone studying performing arts or considering a future in live events, technical theatre or backstage roles.
Workshops will include:
Directing with Laura Jasper
Explore how a director brings scenes to life. We will work together to unpack a short piece of text and understand how blocking and improv can be used as tools for building a scene.
Creative Writing with Christian Emmerson
Discover what it takes to turn an idea into a live performance with writer, theatre maker and artistic director of The Moon & Water Theatre Company, Christian Emmerson. Through practical writing exercises and discussion, you will learn techniques to develop and showcase your own ideas while gaining an insight into the career pathways for writers in the theatre industry.
Video and Audio for Live Events with Colonel Tom and Major Tom
Major Tom and Colonel Tom are a local Audio and Video production company who provide state of the art audio and video for the live events industry. In this session you have the chance to learn about and get hands on with some of the equipment they use for international music touring and learn more about the live events industry.
