Roisin McCay-Hines
Roisin is a freelance director, playwright and practitioner who began her career after completing her training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Predominantly working across new writing and adaptations, her productions have been staged at theatres across the UK including Bristol Old Vic, Theatre 503, Taunton Brewhouse, Old Joint Stock, Exeter Northcott and the Minack Theatre. Roisin was a 2023 MGC Futures Bursary Award winner.
Roisin has a particular interest in artist development and accessibility and frequently works across outreach and education departments. Her work spans organisations such as the Hall for Cornwall, Academy of Music and Theatre Arts, Taunton Brewhouse and a variety of schools, colleges and universities. She is currently the Young People's Support Lead at the Royal Shakespeare Company. From 2021-22, Roisin was an Associate Artist for Wiltshire Creative's SHIFT initiative, platforming young artists at the Salisbury International Arts Festival. Through this time, she developed a keen interest in the wider work of the organisation and its role in the South-West's cultural ecology.
