News Story
Hello, we are the Wiltshire Creative Young Ambassadors: Freya, Ceylan, Cory, Roux, Caitie, Jamie and Eliza.
What does it mean to be a Young Ambassador?
An opportunity for young people to have a voice within Salisbury’s creative space.
Being a Young Ambassador gives you the opportunity to organise events, put your ideas forward and produce a creative programme for young people in Salisbury.
What have you done so far in 2024?
We programmed SK Shlomo, a world champion beat boxer in February, which was hosted at Salisbury Arts Centre. Alongside their show BREATHE, Shlomo presented workshops in community groups and schools, introducing young people to beat boxing and giving them an opportunity to get involved in the show.
Most recently, we have created a youth music programme. We attended the Youth Area Board and were granted £3500 to put towards the programme including Jam Night where young people are encouraged to play music and create together in a comfortable space with support from professional musician- Dave. We also have a Band Night coming up, where local young bands are given the opportunity to perform on stage at Salisbury Arts Centre.
What are you most looking forward to?
“I am excited to attend Press Nights”
“I am really excited for the Band Night, I attended last year and really enjoyed the experience”
“I am excited to create fun events”
What is the best way that young people can support the Young Ambassadors?
“Get involved, join us! It is a really fun thing to do and a unique opportunity that is totally worth it”
“Come to the events”
