We are seeking musicians, bands, singing groups and choirs to be part of Romeo and Juliet!

During the pre-show of all Romeo and Juliet performances, we are looking for musicians to take to the stage and perform for a 10 – 15 minute slot each in the Salisbury Playhouse Foyer. As the audience of 300 people enter the building, you will help bring the space to life and bring atmosphere and world-building to our opening scene. This is a fantastic opportunity for local performers to reach a wider audience and perform in a unique context in a renowned theatre.

What You Need to Know

• You will need to arrive 1.5 hours before your slot time to allow for a sound check.
• There will be a small raised stage area (3m x 2.4m) that will fit 4-5 performers. A larger group of up to 15 can be accommodated, but would be on floor level. Step-free access can be provided.
• We can accommodate 2 microphones and 2 DI connections for a guitar or similar. Any additional voices or instruments would be unamplified.
• We can provide an electric piano if required and we can play backing tracks if required.
• Any Drumkit would need to be condensed (e.g. just snare and brushes).
• We welcome original or covers tracks. This is the opening party scene of the show, so are looking for any genre of music, but the brief is to be positive and upbeat.
• School groups and bands are welcome.
• You would need to arrive dressed – there won’t be dressing room space available.
• If performers are under 18, they must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian or the Group Leader for safeguarding. All other adults wishing to watch the performance will need to buy a ticket.
• This is an unpaid opportunity, but we will cover reasonable travel expenses.
