About Still Life Drawing
An opportunity to learn key drawing skills, from the basics to through to the finer points of still-life drawing, including mark-making and shading techniques. Learn how to set up your study objects and develop your understanding of composition, observation, perspective, tone and colour, all under the guidance of experienced artist and teacher, Matthew Dean.
This course is designed for people who are just starting out or for intermediates who would like to refresh their skill sets. All are welcome!
Participants are asked to bring basic materials:
- Drawing pencils ranging from 2B-6B
- Pencil sharpener and eraser
- A4 sketchpad (optional)
- Small watercolour set (optional)

About Matthew
With over 25 years of producing and creating art in many different media, Matthew has recently been concentrating his skills on creating abstract landscapes artworks. Taking his inspiration from shapes and contours in the countryside and nature, Matthew abstracts information and imagery and turns them into 2D and 3D works of art.
