Get creative with light and glass this solstice weekend and experiment with a variety of techniques and materials to produce stunning Summer Solstice Suncatchers.

This small friendly class will guide you through the process of designing and creating a beautiful glass art suncatcher. Starting with the use of a simple "pick and stick" approach, through the basics of cutting sheet glass and adding a variety of inclusions, frits, stringers, wire and glass enamels.

At the end of the session, these are fired to a smooth but textured finish in a kiln and will be ready for collection about one week later.

No matter what your ability, sun and glass are always a beautiful combination!

This workshop will be led by Helen Southwell, a glass artist and teacher based in Salisbury with over 40 years experience in education. From her studio in Salisbury, Wiltshire, Helen makes kiln formed and mosaic glass art for the home and garden as well and undertaking larger projects and stained-glass work on commission.
