Wiltshire Creative is a pan-arts organisation that celebrates the distinctiveness of each art form and the opportunities afforded to explore interaction between them. We programme and produce work across two buildings – Salisbury Arts Centre and Salisbury Playhouse, and across the county at Salisbury International Arts Festival. We programme 8 - 12 months in advance. We are excited by work which is diverse, relevant, tells important stories, is entertaining, thought-provoking and resonates with our audience. Here is a bit of information about how we programme our different spaces.

Main House (up to 517 seats): we programme a diverse range of high quality mid-scale work which sits alongside in-house productions and co-productions. This includes touring productions of 20th century classics, adaptations, musicals, Shakespeare, west end transfers (such as The Play that Goes Wrong), new work from established touring companies (such as Out of Joint and Told by an Idiot). Each season we also have a series of one night events which include high profile dance, concerts, theatrical comedy. For tech specs click here

The Salberg (up to 149 seats): we programme a diverse range of high quality small scale work which sits alongside in house productions and co-productions. This includes new writing, devised theatre, multi-disciplinary performance, gig-theatre and theatre for young audiences (see below). It's an intimate space with audience on three sides and lends itself well to intimate stories and inventive, interactive, contemporary and experimental performance but also to intimate classics or bold, energetic adaptations. We usually programme shows for a Thursday-Saturday split week, though if we think the show will be really popular we will look at extending the run. For tech specs click here

We also have a varied programme of work for young audiences (age 2+) in The Salberg which often takes place on a Saturday or during school holidays. We programme a range of high quality work for young audiences which includes inventive adaptations of well-known stories and new work which is exciting, engaging, and thought-provoking. We look for work across age ranges from early years to 8+Theatre

Salisbury Arts Centre: we programme a varied range of high quality film, music, dance, visual art, comedy and performing arts. The space is flexible with both cabaret seating and a rake and lends itself well to gig-theatre and cross-art form work. We also have a varied programme of work for early years (under 2 years old) at Salisbury Arts Centre. For tech specs click here

Salisbury International Arts Festival: for the festival we programme the highest calibre music, theatre, dance, spoken word, literature and visual art from across the world. Across all stages we are excited by work which is diverse, relevant, tells important stories, is entertaining, thought-provoking and resonates with our audience.
