Wiltshire Creative

​Come and work with us at Wiltshire Creative, and help us continue to make Salisbury Arts Centre, Salisbury Playhouse and Salisbury International Arts Festival a fabulous place to work. Our staff are important to us, as without them we couldn’t achieve our vision of enriching the cultural and creative life of Salisbury and Wiltshire. The range of jobs within our industry is highly varied, from Producers to Finance Assistants, Youth Theatre leaders to set builders, all of which need to be filled to keep our organisation running. We employ full-time, part-time and casual staff in most departments, as well as freelance creative teams for our in-house productions.

Our staff receive 20 days leave plus bank holidays per year (pro rata), rising in line with length of service. Wiltshire Creative offers staff two complimentary tickets for each Wiltshire Creative production, as well as invitations to press nights, occasional ticket offers for visiting productions, and a discount in our cafes and bars

We offer both part time and full time positions as well as freelance creative teams for our in-house productions. We consider flexible and remote working requests, subject to the requirements of the role.Wiltshire Creative staff have monthly staff meetings, regular team meetings, regular one to one’s annual appraisals and an open channel for training requests. We also offer well-being activities for staff, including walks, Tea and Talk, and lots of cake!

FINANCE DIRECTOR

The Finance Director is a Senior Management post with overall responsibility for the financial management of Wiltshire Creative. They are responsible for ensuring the resources of Wiltshire Creative are deployed effectively and efficiently to achieve Wiltshire Creative’s aims and ambitions. They support the board of trustees, Artistic and Executive Directors and senior management team with accurate and timely information and interpretation to assist decision-making across the organisation. They provide strong financial stewardship, including budgets and controls, internal financial procedures and processes and management and statutory accounting and audit. The Finance Director is also responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the Finance team and contributing to the overall strategic development of the organisation.

SENIOR STAGE TECHNICIAN

The Senior Technician works as part of the Technical Department providing technical support in all areas of Wiltshire Creative’s work across two sites: Salisbury Playhouse and Salisbury Arts Centre and at other venues where required.

You will need three years’ experience as a stage technician and will provide technical support in all areas but with particular emphasis on Staging, Rigging and Flying at the required high standards for all Wiltshire Creative productions and related projects.

VISUAL ARTS & POTTERY ASSISTANT

The role of the Visual Arts & Pottery Assistant is to support the Exhibitions and Pottery at Salisbury Arts Centre. Assisting the Resident Artist & Head of Visual Arts to deliver these areas of work for Wiltshire Creative. The role is a one-year temporary contract, with the possibility to extend, suitable for a recent graduate with degree in ceramics or visual arts, Clay College Diploma or someone with good practical knowledge of visual arts and ceramic practice looking to begin, change or return to a job in ceramics and visual arts. Part of this role also includes an element of creative residency to aid the individual’s own artistic development.

CASUAL BAR STAFF

Bar staff play a key part supporting the Front of House operation at Salisbury Arts and Salisbury Playhouse and generating revenue to support our artistic and outreach work.

Working alongside our Bar and Catering Manager and Assistant Bar and Catering Manager you will be part of the enthusiastic team delivering exceptional hospitality at both venues.

Shifts are available on evenings (generally starting after 5.30pm) and weekends on a rota system.  Pay is £9.50 per hour for all ages, plus 12.07% holiday pay.

Please note we can only employ staff aged 18 or over due to the nature of the role.
