How we are making your visit to Salisbury Playhouse safe

When you visit Salisbury Playhouse this autumn you may notice it feels a bit different. To follow government guidelines for indoor performances and social distancing, the capacity of the main house will be reduced from 512 to 148, with audiences sitting in their household bubbles across the auditorium and some rows completely removed. Other measures adopted to ensure performances are safe for audiences, staff and performers include paperless ticketing, a one-way system, enhanced cleaning, mandatory face coverings, performances without intervals and advance ordering of refreshments. Wiltshire Creative is also following guidance from industry advisers, UK Theatre.

  • Tickets are only available in fixed groups, where 1, 2, 3 or 4 tickets are seated together and each group is distanced from other groups in the auditorium. Every other row is not for sale and has been removed, allowing for greater access along the aisles. All tickets within a group must be purchased by one booker and each group must consist of one household or support bubble.

  • Face coverings will be mandatory throughout the venue, unless refreshments are being consumed.

  • Bookings must be made in advance online via www.wiltshirecreative.co.uk No paper tickets will be issued. Telephone and counter sales are not currently available.

  • If you or a member or your party cannot attend an event because you are ill with symptoms of COVID-19, you can request the value of your tickets to be put as credit on your WIltshire Creative account. Just email ticketsales@wiltshirecreative.co.uk and we will be happy to help.

  • If you would like to book a group that includes a wheelchair user, or have any specific access requirements, please email ticketsales@wiltshirecreative.co.uk and we will be happy to help.

  • You will be required to show your ‘ticket’ on a mobile device when arriving at the theatre for scanning. Alternatively, you can bring a printed version, but please take this home with you.

  • As part of your online booking, you will have the opportunity to pre-order drinks and ice creams from a list of options. These will be available to enjoy prior to the performance. Please note that we are not currently planning to have the bar open for sales on the night.

  • Prior to your visit we will email you to update you on procedures.

You should not visit if you or anyone in your party is suffering from COVID-19 symptoms.
