Wednesdays 13 January - 24 March, 6pm - 9pm (excluding 17 February)
Adult Pottery with Jennie Gilbert Spring 2021 (assisted by Bridget Timoney)
Salisbury Arts Pottery is a fully equipped pottery studio with a legacy dating back to the founding of Salisbury Arts Centre. In our regular mixed ability classes everyone learns at their own pace and is encouraged to pursue their particular interests within the subject of ceramic and clay work. You can learn to hand build, model, or throw on the potters wheel. We keep a considerable stock of stoneware glazes which are formulated and mixed from raw materials at the premises. Our kiln room houses an electric kiln and a gas kiln which is particularly appealing to our more advanced students.
The majority of our adult students come with the aim of learning new skills and continue to attend our classes because they gain confidence in their own clay creativity, and often forming new friendships. Most of our students become avid ceramic enthusiasts whilst a great number of our regulars have now gone on to start up their own studios.
Pottery courses take place in the crypt of Salisbury Arts Centre - a fully equipped creative space.
Please note: The number of spaces is limited due to the size of the pottery studio which is currently running to capacity. Owing to the great demand for these courses, our enrolment system operates on a first come first served basis. We therefore recommend that you set up an online account with a password prior to enrolment.
We also recommend that if you are trying to enrol at the point that the tickets are released and get a “sold" message please try again in five or ten minutes.
