About

Stone Songs Workshop

Wiltshire Creative will once again be working in association with La Folia to perform a new choral work by Howard Moody Stone Songs, the piece is inspired by the craftsmen who built the Cathedral with their bare hands.

Stone Songs was due to open the Salisbury International Arts Festival in 2019 so we are particularly delighted to be able to present it in our first festival for 2 years which takes place 27 May – 19 June 2022. Stone Songs will be performed in Salisbury Cathedral on the opening night of the Festival, Friday 27th May 2022, under the musical direction of Howard Moody.

Wiltshire Creative are thrilled to continue the work with The Festival Chorus and we are delighted that this event will herald the start of two packed weeks of music, dance, circus, film, theatre, visual art, spoken word and much, much more. Stone Songs promises to be an extraordinary event. Wiltshire Creative and La Folia will be hosting an introductory workshop session for anyone interested in joining the Festival Chorus for Stone Songs, this will take place on Monday 8th November at Salisbury Arts Centre from 7pm – 10pm.  You will be able to meet the team, previous and new chorus members and have the opportunity to explore Stone Songs through some practical singing exercises led by Howard Moody.
