Actor's Workshop


Wiltshire Creative are running a series of drop in practical workshops specially designed for semi-professional and professional performers to keep their skills fresh whilst exploring new techniques. The workshops will be run by in-house and visiting directors and practitioners, and will be a great opportunity to meet a range of professional artists and directors. Details of upcoming practitioners can be found here and will be confirmed closer to the workshop date.

6.30-9pm Thursday 29 November 2018, Community Room at Salisbury Playhouse
Led by Jo Billingham - On movement and freeing the body for physical storytelling and building character
Jo specialises in movement and physical theatre- exploring free and creative approaches to storytelling. Alongside her teaching and facilitating, she continues to perform and direct her own projects, whilst working freelance as the Education and Participation Officer for Forest Forge Theatre Company.

Led by Ria Parry
Ria is Joint Artistic Director of North Wall Arts Centre, Oxford, and Joint Artistic Director and Co-founder of Iron Shoes. Directing work includes: The Island Nation by Christine Bacon (Ice and Fire at Arcola Theatre),  Jane Wenham: The Witch of Walkern by Rebecca Lenkiewicz (Out of Joint national tour), The Girl Who Never Looked Up (National Theatre Learning), Albion by Chris Thompson (Bush Theatre), Bike by Katherine Mitchell and On Golden Pond by Ernest Thompson (Salisbury Playhouse), The Winter's Tale Re-imagined (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre), Dr Korczak's Example by David Greig (Unicorn Theatre), Tales of Winter (Southbank Centre), Fen by Caryl Churchill (Finborough Theatre).

The drop in workshops are suitable for ages 18+ and each session costs £10

All sessions run from 6.30pm - 9pm
