ARTIST OF THE WEEK - Paul Benzing

Shining a spotlight on artists

Each week, through a series of short films, we will profile an amazing artist who either live locally or has worked with Wiltshire Creative.

This time it’s the turn of fight director Paul Benzing, in conversation with actor Mark Meadows. Through a series of short films Paul will discuss his career – including working at Salisbury Playhouse – and take us step by step how a stage fight is choreographed.

Paul Benzing has been a Fight Director for 28 years and has worked with many companies including The National Theatre and Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. Notably, he arranged the fights in Warhorse in the West End and on tour. He has worked on many Salisbury Playhouse productions over the years including last Christmas’s pantomime Robin Hood. He trained as an actor at The Guildford School of Acting and first worked at Salisbury Playhouse in 1985 when he was in The Birthday Party, directed by Noreen Craven.
