Tea for Two: Hand-building pottery
Mondays 8 June - 6 July, 2pm - 4pm
TEA FOR TWO: HAND-BUILDING POTTERY
with Bridget Timoney
We are taking pottery making out of the pottery studio and into our art space!
Due to the popular demand we have added a five-week hand-building course for up to ten students.
The course will focus on making a tea set by pinching, coiling and slab building. You will learn the basic principles of these hand-building techniques with the option of making a teapot, two tea bowls, sugar bowl with a spoon, small jug and tray.
The course will be run by Bridget Timoney, Visual Arts and Pottery Assistant. Bridget has been potting for ten years. She studied ceramics at Limerick School of Art and Design, trained by Gus Mableson at the prestigious Thomastown Skills Course and has recently completed an Adopt a Potter apprenticeship with Julie Ayton.
Please wear casual clothes and sensible shoes and bring an apron.
The cost of materials is not included in the cost of the course and will be collected prior to the first firing according to the pottery workshop standard material rates.
