This flamboyant adaptation changes the dynamic by switching the gender of sorcerer Prospero to sorceress Prospera.

Helen Mirren is enchanting as Prospera, stranded on a mysterious island after being cast adrift years ago.

To exact revenge, she orchestrates spirits, monsters, a grief-stricken king, a wise old counsellor, two treacherous brothers and a storm at sea into a fantastical journey filled with banishment, sorcery and betrayal.
