The Dilly Boys are an energetic folk band, bringing to life original and traditional songs and tunes, using guitars, banjo, accordion, mandolin, and carefully constructed harmonies.
Their debut EP is a fine example of a sound they have coined ‘Shanty Chic’, drawing on the traditions of folk music from around the globe, with strong influences of blues and cabaret. They have cultivated a reputation for lively, rambunctious concerts that have a strong focus on audience participation.
Highlights for the Dillyboys include supporting Martin and Eliza Carthy at Exeter Phoenix, 3 Daft Monkeys at the Barrelhouse Totnes, Sheelanagig at The Pig’s Nose, Mad Dog McRea at The Pig’s Nose, and Ferocious Dog at The Beehive in Honiton. 2018 Festival highlights include playing at Dukes and the Anchor at Sidmouth Folk Festival, Goren Festival in Honiton, Exeter Street Arts Festival, The Little Big Gig in Lizard, and Folk on the Quay in Poole.
