Emily Souter Johnson

HOME: AN INVESTIGATION

About

Friday 15 February
Salisbury Arts Centre, Tower Room at 2pm

Brilliant South West artist Emily Souter Johnson will be in residence with us during the festival developing a new piece of work and will be sharing her work-in-progress on Friday 15 February at 2pm

Home: An Investigation explores the themes of home and migration by asking:

What is like to make the UK your home?
What barriers have you encountered?
Why did you move here?
Where do you consider home?
What is home to you?

Emily will be conducting interviews across the week, with a variety of people from all walks of life who have made the UK their home. Interviews will be held with people who have been here since birth or their early childhood, as well as those who moved here later in life. As a migrant from Ireland 16 years ago, Emily will be using her own experiences. This is an open invitation to artists or those interested in the process to come and have a chat and see where the process is going, and feed into its possible future.

Join our Fest West residence at the end of the week for an informal sharing, a chance to catch a work-in-progress extract of her new show.
