Wiltshire Creative Summer Open Exhibition

Salisbury Arts Centre is open Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 3pm

Wiltshire Creative’s Summer Open Exhibition this year starts at Salisbury Arts Centre on 12 July. This year expect to see 84 pieces by 73 different artists.   

The Summer Open Exhibition celebrates the talent of Southwest based artists at any stage of their career. Work on display includes painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, textiles, collage, and mixed media. As in the previous years, this is a selling exhibition which offers the perfect opportunity to acquire work created locally. 


The selection panel this year includes:

Sharon Kearley BA Hons, MA – Textile Artist and Lecturer

Tim Scrace BA, BArch, RIBA, ARB – Architect, Lecturer and Artist

Lara Hoad BA Hons - Artist and Young Arts Voice

With Mirka Golden-Hann BA Hons, MA - Resident Artist Head of Visual Arts Wiltshire Creative


We are pleased to announce the 2022 prizes:

Memory Fine Art Prize The winner of a public vote will receive £200 and an opportunity to exhibit at Memory Fine Art Gallery, Salisbury. Only actual visitors to the exhibition will be able to vote (no online vote).

Compleat Artist Prize awarded to the under 25’s submission The prize is a personalised selection of art supplies. This prize will be selected by Pierre Barton-Pink the proprietor of the Compleat Artist Shop.


This annual exhibition with the spotlight on creativity flourishing in the Southwest at Salisbury Arts Centre has over the years become an important element of the Summer cultural calendar in the city. 

The exhibition’s curator, Wiltshire Creative Resident Artist Mirka Golden-Hann, said: ’Wiltshire Creative is very proud of supporting Southwest artists by creating opportunities to showcase. Our Summer Open with its myriad expressive voices is a prime example of this.’
