Festival Chorus Call Out for Stone Songs

Festival Chorus Call Out

Wiltshire Creative will once again be working in partnership with La Folia to perform a new choral work by Howard Moody, Stone Songs.

Originally intended to open the 2020 Salisbury International Arts Festival, Stone Songs is a new choral work inspired by the Medieval chants that have resonated from the Cathedral’s stones since the 13th century. The piece will feature a large community chorus, five soloists, brass musicians, a percussionist, violinist, an organ, and working stone mason.

Stone Songs will be performed in Salisbury Cathedral on the opening night of the Salisbury International Arts Festival, Friday 27 May 2022, under the musical direction of Howard Moody.

Wiltshire Creative are thrilled to continue working with the Festival Chorus and we are delighted that this event will herald the start of three packed weeks of music, dance, circus, film, theatre, visual art, spoken word and much more, running from 27 May – 19 June 2022.

Registration is now open to become a Festival Chorus Member. If you would like to be a part of the Festival Chorus, please sign up using the registration form below, which includes details of the rehearsals, performance schedule and payment details. You do not need to have taken part previously.
