Sebastian Warrack is stepping down as Executive Director of Wiltshire Creative after 11 years.
During his tenure, he was part of the leadership team that oversaw the merger of Salisbury Playhouse, Salisbury Arts Centre and Salisbury International Arts Festival into the single arts organisation, Wiltshire Creative, he led on the development of Salisbury Playhouse’s Capital Masterplan and he collaborated with Wiltshire Council on the development of plans for Salisbury’s first cultural quarter.
Sebastian Warrack said: “It’s been a huge joy and honour to lead, first Salisbury Playhouse and latterly Wiltshire Creative, alongside joint Chief Executive, Gareth Machin. I am so proud of all that we have achieved, working with our hugely talented staff and dedicated volunteers. We have created productions as diverse as Worst Wedding Ever, The Magna Carta Plays, Congress in Salisbury Cathedral and the recent production of The Tempest in Salisbury’s Churchill Gardens. Now that we have managed to stabilise the organisation post-pandemic, it feels the right time to move on. I will watch with pleasure and pride as Wiltshire Creative goes from strength to strength.”
Chair Doric Bossom commented: “Sebastian’s commitment to Wiltshire Creative has been undeniable. He jointly led the organisation through not only many successful productions but three of the most challenging events in its history – the merger in 2018, the two Novichok incidents, and then Covid. The Board owes Sebastian a debt of gratitude for his devotion to making Wiltshire Creative the significant force in the arts scene in south Wiltshire and beyond that it is today. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”
