Brand new for this academic year!

Wiltshire Creative have an opportunity for young people aged 14-18 to take part in a variety of workshops and events throughout the year with our professional technicians. You will gain experience in technical and production roles and an understanding of theatre and live events.

The opportunity will involve:

• Shadowing our professional technical staff in lighting, sound and stage management.
• Hands-on experience helping to set up and prepare events.
• Experience the back of house, set up and backstage communication of our pantomime by being present backstage.
• Build confidence in working in a team.
• Understand how to plan and learn what is needed to make an event happen.
• Work towards planning, preparing and operating the Youth Theatre show at the end of the academic year.

You will be asked to attend different events throughout the 24/25 academic year, after school, during weekends or school holidays for you to achieve this. The events will include:

• Introduction Tech Session:14^th September 2024, Salisbury Arts Centre
• Jam Night: 14^th September 2024, Salisbury Arts Centre
• Band Night: 2^nd November 2024, Salisbury Arts Centre
• Sleeping Beauty:Salisbury Playhouse, separate times to be arranged during December 2024 and January 2025
• Technical Workshop TBA: 20^th February 2025
• Young Person’s Music Night TBA:20th February 2025, Salisbury Arts Centre
• Young Person’s Social TBA: 11^th April 2025, Salisbury Arts Centre
• Celebration/Festival Events TBC
• Youth Theatre Show TBA: July 2025, Salisbury Playhouse.

We are looking for young people who want to explore and develop their understanding of technical theatre in more depth and gain experience working alongside a professional technical team. This is a great opportunity and the next step for those with a keen interest in pursuing a career in the technical industry.

The full cost of this opportunity for the 24/25 academic year is £75.00. Reduced and bursary rates are available.
