Board of Trustees-Kate Barker
Kate has worked extensively with cultural organisations, developing strategic brand and business solutions to maximise engagement and generate income. She was on the board of the National Gallery’s trading company for 5 years, driving new business opportunities and playing a key role in process improvement, organisation restructure and change management. Subsequently, as a freelance consultant, she created commercial brand strategies for some of the country’s best known arts and heritage organisations including the National Theatre, Imperial War Museums, Kew Gardens, Abbey Road Studios and the British Library. Kate left London for Wiltshire in 2012, where her commitment to community, diversity and participation in the arts led her to chair Salisbury Arts Centre’s board of trustees. She is also secretary of her local Horticultural Society, and enjoys allotmenting, country walks with her rogue rescue staffy, and playing music in a band.
