WILTSHIRE CREATIVE ANNOUNCES GATES WIDE OPEN AND SPRING 2022 AT SALISBURY ARTS CENTRE 

Wiltshire Creative today announces Gates Wide Open, a new exhibition for Spring 2022 at Salisbury Arts Centre, alongside a season of theatre, workshops and exhibitions. Following the previously announced exhibition Same Sea, Different BoatGates Wide Open will showcase work from four selected artists who graduated from university during the pandemic, with each artist receiving £500 to exhibit their work. Gates Wide Open will be on display from 15 March – 8 May 2022, with the open call for submissions closing 2 January 2022.

Alongside Gates Wide Open will be an extensive theatre programme on offer at Salisbury Arts Centre, including touring productions of Sophie Ross’s Swings and RoundaboutsJennifer Irons comedy cabaret Yukon Ho!Living Spit’s Elizabeth I: Virgin On The RidiculousAn Evening with Kate BushThe Day of the Triffids: Mash UpEngine Room artist Louise Jordan’s Florence: The Lesser Known Life and Legacy of Florence Nightingaleand raucous gig theatre Jeremiah from Jack Dean & Company. There will also be live music from Fay HieldThe Deloreons and local talent in Live and Local, and the popular Comedy Barnstormers nights will continue into 2022.

Alongside the theatre and gallery offering, Wiltshire Creative also continues their extensive workshop programme into Spring 2022 with community workshops including Collagraph on Fabric with Sue Brown for adults and Craft with Wiltshire Scrapstore for ages 4-7.

Juliet Coveney, Salisbury Arts Centre Manager, said today “We are so proud to see the Arts Centre rebuilding back into the cultural hub it was pre-pandemic, and the programme of events we are delivering in Spring 2022 is the next step in this process of community healing. We are delighted to be offering such a rich theatre and diverse programme alongside our main exhibition Same Sea, Different Boat, which will offer such a timely reflection on our recent collective experience.”
