Love a good ghost story? Don't miss Upon The Stair
If you love a good ghost story and have been enjoying the gothic horror of Dracula on BBC 1 this New Year, you’ll love Upon The Stair at The Salberg, Salisbury Playhouse from 16-18 January.
Upon the Stair is for ghost story lovers, fans of horror cinema and fiction and anyone who enjoys a great story, well-told.
As darkness falls, The Storyteller, The Shade and The Musician awaken. Burdened with telling the tales of The Book of Darkness & Light, together they bring three ghostly stories to life. Every page conjures a new horror.
What is the strange shape lurking in the reeds? Why is that gruesome figure hiding in your mirror? Whose are the ghoulish steps upon the stair? This is a trio of macabre tales to unsettle and delight which will linger long after the lights go out.
Using a combination of storytelling, live music and integrated British Sign Language (BSL), Upon the Stair is a thrilling gothic show like you’ve never witnessed before.
With the spellbinding words of The Storyteller (Adam Z Robinson), the captivating physical performance of The Shade (Raffie Julien) and the haunting, moving score by The Musician (Chloë Hayward), this unique show will leave you riveted, charmed and terrified all at once.
Upon the Stair is presented is in association with Square Chapel Arts Centre, Harrogate Theatres and Little Mighty. It runs in The Salberg from Thursday 16 to Saturday 18 January.
