SALISBURY ARTS CENTRE AND SALISBURY PLAYHOUSE WILL REOPEN NEXT WEEK
SALISBURY ARTS CENTRE AND SALISBURY PLAYHOUSE WILL REOPEN NEXT WEEK FOR CHRISTMAS WORKSHOPS, LIVE ENTERTAINMENT, SHOPPING AND A FREE EXHIBITION
Following the government’s announcement that Wiltshire is in Tier 2, we are very excited to confirm that Christmas at Salisbury Arts Centre and Salisbury Playhouse will go ahead with socially distanced Christmas productions, an exhibition, live music and Christmas shopping.
If you and the family are looking for some extra festive fun this Christmas then there is still time to book tickets to see Little Robin Redbreast at Salisbury Playhouse (morning, afternoon and evening performances running from Monday 7 to Sunday 27 December). Written by Glyn Kerslake and Gareth Machin, with a stella cast featuring many familiar faces to the Salisbury Playhouse stage: Bernadette Bangura who shook and shimmied as the Sheriff's Spanish housekeeper, Consuela in Salisbury Playhouse hit pantomime Robin Hood last year, Ryan Heenan, (Moonfleet), Philippa Hogg (Little Robin Redbreast, 2017) and Dan Smith (Little Robin Redbreast, 2017, Moonfleet and Worst Wedding Ever).
For just one week we will also see Olivier Award winner Guy Masterson who returns by popular demand following 3 sellout Christmas seasons at Salisbury Playhouse. Guy, a veteran of smash hit solo shows including Under Milk Wood and Animal Farm, recreates Scrooge, Marley, the Fezziwigs, Tiny Tim and more in this enchanting visceral performance of A Christmas Carol (15 – 19 December) that is guaranteed to get you into the Christmas spirit - in more ways than one! Seating is limited, so book early to avoid disappointment!
Salisbury Arts Centre will open again with FREE Diaspora exhibition (8 – 19 December) so it’s a great excuse to view and buy some fantastic art and grab a coffee or homemade treat from our café to take a break from your Christmas shopping.
Our popular Friday Nights at Salisbury Arts Centre continue into the festive season with an Open Mic Night with Thom Belk and live music from alternative country/roots/Americana band The Duskers (11 – 18 December). Tables are free and very popular so book in advance to avoid disappointment.
We are delighted to launch Art in the Arches this December, a new shopping opportunity where local artists can display and sell their work - just in time for Christmas! Art in the Arches is FREE and will be open on Saturday 12 and 19 December at Salisbury Arts Centre. We will have a range of different artists displaying and selling their work including Sally Newton, Ann Miller, Tamsin Loveday, Murray Marshall, Annaliese Stoney, Anne-Marie Marshall Fieber, Sally Firino and Salisbury Arts Pottery. You are sure to find the perfect Christmas gift for friends, family or even yourself!
There is just one week until we open our buildings again and tickets are selling fast. For more information and to book your tickets visit www.wiltshirecreative.co.uk or book at the Ticket Office at Salisbury Arts Centre Tue – Sat 11am – 3pm (From 8 December)
Book today to give the whole family a Christmas outing they won’t forget.
